Privacy Policy

Managist is a local-first macOS application. The application keeps your content on your device, and the information below explains the limited ways we interact with your data when you use the product, our support tools, and our billing flow.

Overview

Managist is a paid macOS desktop application designed to run locally on your Mac. This policy explains how we handle information in connection with the app, our website, and related support services.

We respect your privacy and, by default, keep user-created content on your device rather than on our servers.

Information we do not collect from the app

Managist does not collect, transmit, or store your project files, milestones, artifacts, or conversation history from the application itself. Those data remain on your machine unless you choose to send them to a third party.

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics, or telemetry of any kind inside the application.

Third-party LLM providers

The app can connect to third-party large language model providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, and similar services using API keys that you provide. We do not proxy, store, or have access to your API keys. We also do not receive the content you send to those providers.

Please review the privacy policies of the providers you choose, because their handling of data is governed by their own terms.

Updates and version checks

Managist can check for software updates at updates.managist.dev, which is hosted on Google Cloud Storage. Update checks are initiated manually by you, not automatically by the app.

During an update check, the only information transmitted is the current app version and your IP address, which is part of a standard HTTP request. We do not send personal data or usage analytics with update checks.

License validation and billing

We use Paddle as our merchant of record. When you purchase Managist, Paddle collects your payment information, email address, and billing details. We receive your email address and license key from Paddle, but we do not receive or store your payment card details.

The app periodically verifies license status by connecting to Paddle. The data transmitted is limited to the license key and a machine identifier.

Support requests

Our support contact form is powered by Web3Forms. When you submit a request, your name, email address, and message are transmitted to Web3Forms for delivery.

Data retention

We retain purchase records and license data for the duration of the license plus a reasonable period for support, accounting, and fraud prevention.

Your rights and deletion requests

If you want us to delete information associated with your purchase or support history, please submit a request via our support contact form. We will review reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.

Children’s privacy

Managist is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
